Complying with Section 8 of AS 2159, the Australian Standard for Piling, Helcon screw piles allows builders and engineers to specify Helcon Piles with full confidence.

Unlike the single plate helix traditionally used by the Australian screw pile industry, the multi-fin cast steel helix no longer limits the structural capacity of the screw pile.

Put simply, the design strength of a single plate helix screw pile is limited by the structural strength of the plate helix or alternatively the collapsing load of the shaft wall at the point where the plate helix is weld attached. Helcons' design uses multi-fin helix.

For the first time, the full structural capacity of the tubular pile shaft can be used by Engineers in calculating the load capacity of Helcons' screw piles.  Without doubt, a giant leap forward in "helical technology" for the steel screw pile industry.

Helcon Screw Piles manufacture, install and certify the patented, cutting edge technology of Helcons' screw piling system, using the latest design multi-fin cast steel helix and cast steel male and female coupling system all fully welded to high strength steel shafts.

Helcon differentiates itself from its competitors and brings real change and competitiveness through innovation and new technology.  The new screw pile design consists of a Pilot Pile with a multi-fin cast steel helix welded to a minimum 350 mpa steel pipe shaft which in turn is welded to a cast steel female coupling.  Extension pile pieces consist of a cast steel male coupling welded to a minimum 350 mpa steel pile shaft which in turn is welded to a cast steel female coupling.

The range of steel screw piles available are from less than 100 kN SWL through to  2,000 kN SWL.
